The association conducted a survey of gender equality

Explore2Be in cooperation with several secondary schools in Banja Luka and Prijedor region conducted a survey in the fourth grades of secondary school, as well as with households and organizations of rural and suburban areas of Banja Luka / Prijedor region. The aim of the survey was to obtain an opinion on gender equality in these areas, opportunities for women and men in education, employment, careers, stereotypes, the perception of all forms of violence, risky lifestyles such as the use of alcohol, cigarettes or drugs and how they see relationships in their families.

The results indicate a need for continuous implementation of women’s empowerment programs in rural areas through the use of modern digital communication channels and the promotion of self-employment. On the other hand, it is important to point out young girls the importance of education with a focus on the interests of the future, such as information technology. The empowerment of girls and women prevents violence, prevents risky lifestyles, and education on stereotypic patterns of behavior. Parents should be more committed to directing and educating children, but the current situation in society emphasizes the occupation of existential issues.
